Coarctation of the Aorta (265)
Coarctation of the aorta is a narrowing of the aorta resulting from an abnormal junction of the aortic isthmus and the arterial duct. It accounts for 5% of all congenital cardiac defects and mortality is greater than 80% if unrepaired. This tutorial describes the anaesthetic and intensive care management of patients with this condition.
